Grand Canyon National Park was partially open for day use on Monday after flash flooding killed one person and prompted a search-and-rescue operation for at least 15 people.
At least 62 people were evacuated on Saturday after flooding destroyed footbridges and damaged a campground and cabins near Bright Angel Creek in Arizona, the National Park Service said.
The proposed land swap would allow easy access to the crown jewel of the national park system. Democrats and former Park Service officials are incensed.
