A controller let a jet take off after missing warnings that Marine One was about to fly through the area, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.
A passenger jet came within a mile of Marine One in early August, after an air traffic controller at Ronald Reagan National Airport appeared to have missed multiple warnings.
The security review is being performed by the Idaho National Laboratory, and the research is being funded by a company -- or a group of companies -- in the electric and autonomous vehicle industries.
