NASA launched its newest space telescope, undertaking its biggest mission yet to study the universe on a much larger scale. A roughly $4 billion project, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will allow scientists to get panoramic views of space and better understand the nature of powerful forces known as dark energy and dark matter. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh said there is still work to do on inflation. At the Fed's annual economic symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Warsh also said that although he is not committed to a rate hike, he is not ruling it out. Meta agreed to pay up to $17 billion in a settlement, putting to rest a trial where dozens of states accused it of deliberately endangering children through their platforms. The company behind Facebook and Instagram agreed to implement digital guardrails for minors and is asking other social platforms to do the same. The proposed $111 billion merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery hit a roadblock after California's attorney general and 11 other states sued to stop it. That move was followed by Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison threatening to take his operations out of California if the deal is not approved.
